Pachter: 2009 PS2 Software Sales “Almost Irrelevant”

Industry analyst, Michael Pachter, recently talked PS2 software sales in his company’s Wedbush’s “2009 Interactive Industry Report.

In the report, he claims that by the end of this year PS2 software sales will become “almost irrelevant”, accounting for less than 4% total software sales.

“PS2 software sales to decline sufficiently (around 64%) to be almost irrelevant to overall software sales growth, with PS2 software comprising less than 4% of overall software sales in 2009.”

Has the PS2’s dominance finally come to a halt? Or is Pachter yet again making a poor prediction? Post your thoughts and feelings in the comments section below.
