PSP Teaches Students About Beat Making

The PSP is a great system for playing games, watching movies, and listening to music. For a small group of kids in New York City, the PSP has an additional feature: teaching.

Rockstar Games and Dubspot, a DJ school in New York, have teamed up to teach kids the basics of music theory. Rockstar has provided free PSP’s and copies of Beaterator for students to use at Dubspot’s workshop. Anyone who enrolls in one of Dubspot’s courses will use Beaterator and state-of-the-art DJ kits to learn about notes and metering. The goal of the course is for students to be able to make beats completely from scratch. Here is a CBS report on the story.
