FIFA World Cup 2010 Makes Official Entrance

As expected, EA has officially announced the latest FIFA installment in their highly popular franchise by introducing FIFA World Cup 2010, slated for a summer release.

Yesterday, there were various tweets and messages from EA hinting at the latest world cup game. No platforms had been confirmed when the news broke at EA’s official FIFA Facebook page, but as with previous titles in the series, expect it to be on most if not all formats.

Also announced is a full online tournament:

One cool feature will be the first-ever full and authentic 2010 FIFA World CupTM online tournament. Compete online instantly – day or night – as your favourite country against other gamers around the world in the group stage through the knockout rounds to the World Cup Final and the chance to be crowned champion. The game features all 199 nations that took part in qualification.

The football title is slated for a summer release, in time for the FIFA World Cup 2010 tournament hosted by South Africa.
