Atari to ‘Revolutionize’ Online Gaming With Test Drive Unlimited 2

One of the world’s most recognized videogame publishers, Atari, and much-acclaimed developer, Eden Games, have today announced that they will be looking to “revolutionizing multiplayer racing communities” with Test Drive Unlimited 2.

After endless speculation on whether a sequel will be created for the racer, Atari has officially announced Test Drive Unlimited 2, which will be released this Autumn.

One of the most interesting aspects which the developers are focusing on is the online multiplayer component. Similar to Burnout Paradise, the game will feature ‘Massively Open Online Racing’ which blends single and multiplayer experiences together.

Atari and Eden games will be improving every aspect of the racer’s predecessor to make this title one of the best racers on the market. Vehicle damage, weather effects, day and night cycles, and a brand new island to explore will all be included.

Jeff Lapin, CEO of Atari, SA comments:

After the highly successful Test Drive Unlimited which redefined the genre with massively open online racing, Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be an innovative evolution in racing games, expanding its unparalleled multiplayer experience and immersing players in a world full of new online content and lifestyle customization. The game fits squarely into our strategy of moving online and generating new revenue streams while maintaining our current retail business.
