Resident Evil 5 And Lost Planet 2 Going 3D

Sony are already working on 3D-ready PlayStation 3 games. However, 3rd parties aren’t being left in the dust as we’ve already seen with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Capcom has chosen to integrate 3D technology as they’ve revealed some games which is already 3D compatible.

The engine behind Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 and the upcoming Lost Planet 2, MT Framework, is 3D compatible. Resident Evil 5 was 3D-ready during development, meaning the game has integrated the technology and is playable in 3D. However, it doesn’t mean the PlayStation 3 will receive an update to allow 3D being incorporated.

The news of the engine being 3D compatible doesn’t necessarily mean that Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 will be upgraded to official 3D compatibility soon, but the technology is ready for Capcom to utilize.

Enterbrain CEO Hirokazu Hamamura’s comments on 3D tech stated that it’s not too difficult for developers to make their games 3D compatible.

It’s possible that the game you were playing will one day suddenly become 3D just because you changed your TV.
