Blu-Ray Titled Most Enticing Feature For Future PS3 Owners

Three weeks prior to the release of God of War III, the Nielsen Company, a firm dedicated to marketing and media research, recently held a consumer survey, asking future PlayStation 3 owners what features motivated them the most to make their purchase. The results of the survey were definitely interesting.

It turns out, the feature that seems to be bringing the most new consumers to the PS3 is the blu-ray capabilities, followed closely by the newly established lower price point and then shortly followed by the overall library available. Surprisingly, the category which referred to potential buyers choosing the PS3 for a specific title came in dead last, which shows that the console and an incredibly balanced library and is no longer looked at as the console that is “only good for its exclusives”, although they are in a league of their own.

It’s great to see the profound effect that the PS3 price drop is having and just how many more people get to enjoy the entertainment that the PlayStation brand has been delivering for over a decade. And if there is anyone out there who is still unconvinced, well, we can assure you that the PS3 is essentially the Swiss army knife of media centers as it really does everything.
