There has been a lot of blame thrown around over the past few years on video games and the effect they are having on our youth. While many people are ready to take their pitchforks to the offices of developers & publishers everywhere, Rockstar Games feels that there is a different culprit in all of this – the parents.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Rockstar’s Lazlow called out irresponsible parents for their role in all of this.
“Our games are not designed for young people,” he said. “If you’re a parent and buy one of our games for your child you’re a terrible parent. We design games for adults because we’re adults.
“There’s a lot of kids games out there that we’re not interested in playing. Just like you enjoy watching movies and TV shows with adult themes and language and violence that’s the kind of thing we seek to produce.”
