3D Won’t Be Game Changer In Killzone 3 Says Pachter

Sony and Guerrilla Games recently pulled back the curtain on Killzone 3 and made one hell of an announcement. Not only will Killzone 3 improve in every possible way from its predecessor, but it will be one of Sony’s first 3D-enabled games. The prospect of Killzone 3 in 3D, however, is not all bright in the mind of industry analyst, Michael Pachter.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter recently told CVG Killzone 3 in 3D won’t be a game changer:

I don’t think that 3D support is a huge game changer, as I don’t think that a significant portion of the population will have 3D displays any time soon.

Pachter also said that Killzone 3 is a bit to late to sell PlayStation 3 units with the analysis stating: “While it might be a bit late in the cycle to move many consoles”. However, he then went onto say potential PS3 owners “would have to consider this game”.

The press-reveal which took place in Europe before Killzone 3’s embargo was lifted gave the media a chance to witness the shooter in 3D. It was described as nothing short of an awesome experience with bullets spraying right in front of your eyes, literally. I don’t know about you, but that’s enticing enough for me to purchase a 3D TV set.
