When yet another new Call of Duty was announced (other than Treyarch’s Black Ops), it was certainly a surprise as to who would be developing it. Sledgehammer Games will take the reigns of the next installment in the highly successful COD series. However, when they announced the game the category it was filed under was not at all expected.
Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty is categorized under the action-adventure genre, rather than the FPS genre. However, according to some new evidence, the game is actually a first-person shooter.
A job listing published by the new developer reveals:
Sledgehammer Games is actively recruiting top industry talent to join the Call of Duty FPS development team.
Activision are, of course, heavily backing the game with the the publishers’ COO stating Sledgehammer’s latest will be a new take on the Call of Duty series.
