The main aspect which has turned away many potential buyers of Sony’s PlayStation 3, you ask? The price (at least before the slimmed down PS3). And according to Sony it won’t be dropping anytime soon.
Speaking to MCV, SCE UK sales director Mark Howsen said:
The bundling strategy will always continue. We offer free games now and that will continue. In terms of price drop, I have no idea. There’s been no discussion internally about that at all. At the moment we’re enjoying good year-on-year growth and as long as that continues we’ll keep on going I think.
There you have it folks, any hope for a price drop announcement at E3 is dead.
Now if you don’t mind, I’ll go play the system which I shelled out $599 for.
