PS3 Firmware 3.40 Hidden Features Revealed

With a slew of – and may I say awesome – features which have been included in the latest PlayStation 3 firmware, version 3.40, could there be any more features which Sony didn’t really reveal? As with every firmware update: of course there is.

In addition to Sony’s PlayStation Network premium service, PlayStation Plus, as well as a video editor/uploader, more Facebook support and an enhanced Photo Gallery, the following is also included within firmware 3.40, courtesy of TSA:

  • Your Friends List will now show Trophy levels as you hover over them.
  • The colors of your Friend’s boxes faded in, rather than ‘jumping’ from the normal grey.
  • There’s an option to calibrate the sensors in PlayStation Move controllers.
  • Deep Color Output has been added for TV sets that support the feature over HDMI.
  • The Video Editor cannot be used on videos installed on the hard drive before Firmware 3.40.
  • A few PlayStation Plus items have appeared in the menus, such as Automatic Downloading.
