Many PS3 fans cried foul when Sony announced that they were killing off PS2 backwards compatibility for the PS3 in 2008. Since then, Sony has found a way to make even more money off their PS2 classics, by re-releasing them on the PS3 as collections in brilliant HD! God of War received the first treatment and The Sly Collection hits this fall containing all three Sly Cooper titles, featuring a platinum trophy for each. With Sony eying more titles for future re-releases, Insomniac Games have chimed in with their thoughts on the ‘inevitable’ Ratchet and Clank Collection which will pleasing all of your R & C fans out there.

When asked about a R & C Collection on the PS3 on Twitter, Insomniac Games replied that they would in fact support the move, but wouldn’t work on it.

We won’t make it, but we’d support Sony if they decided to do it!

Hells yeah! All four Insomniac Ratchet and Clank games on the PS3 on one blu-ray disc, with trophy support and in HD resolution? Yes please.

What do you guys and gals think? Are these HD collections worth it? For those of you who purchased the GOW Collection, was it worth the money? We here at PlayStation LifeStyle certainly don’t have a problem with them and can only imagine which franchise will officially receive one next! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
