God of War: Ghost of Sparta Dev Confirms Staff Cut

God of War: Ghost of Sparta continues Kratos’ legacy on the PlayStation Portable once again. The portable action-game is being described as the best looking PSP game ever by Sony, topping the critically acclaimed God of War: Chains of Olympus in almost every aspect. Despite all this success, developers Ready at Dawn, has confirmed they’ve laid off 13 staff members from the team.

The studio, who created the previous God of War PSP iteration, God of War: Chains of Olympus, confirmed the news via its website:

Most days we feel privileged to do what we do. Some days not so much. Today just plain sucks.

We’ve spent the majority of our time at RAD hiring the best and most talented people to join our team. Today, we had to let go of 13 of these people because we simply couldn’t keep them on board while one project finishes and another ramps up. Unfortunately, these are the woes of being independent… It sucks. There are no other words for it.

Best wishes go out to the 13 people laid off during these tough economic times.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta is currently scheduled to bring Kratos’ fury into the palm of your hands later this year.
