The Force is with Guybrush Threepwood

September 29, 2010 Written by Corey Schwanz

No, you didn’t read that wrong. LucasArts just let it slip that a different scoundrel will make an appearance in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.Right on the game’s official Facebook page, Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate™, will be an unlockable skin in this Fall’s foray into the Star Wars universe. Guybrush is clothed in the exact same garbs as the franchise protagonist Starkiller as well as the two iconic lightsabers. Guybrush, as you may or may not know, is the star of LucasArts’ iconic point-and-click Monkey Island franchise. This particular look of the pirate pays homage to the character design of The Curse of Monkey Island.

Although it originally debuted in 1990, the special edition rereleases of The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge have caused a rise in popularity once again. Not only that, but Telltale Games re-imagining of the Monkey Island series in Tales of Monkey Island has also done very well. There is no word as to how the skin is unlocked, but just be glad it isn’t a pre-order exclusive or even DLC. Look forward to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II this October 26th, and be sure to check here at PlayStation LifeStyle for the review.
