Explore the Human Body with EA’s All-New MicroBot

Electronic Arts has announced a new title which will be available via digital download during Winter next year. Named MicroBot, the game is an arcade-style shooter revolving around taking players inside the human body.

In development alongside Naked Sky Entertainment, LLC, EA’s MicroBot sees nanomachines being bonded to the diseased cells which are multiplying inside the body. Putting players in the seat of MicroBot, the game’s vehicle, players must seek and destroy the infection before it consumes the human host from the inside. MicroBot sees players battle various enemies as they travel through veins, bones, lungs, and even the brain. Cleverly, MicroBot dynamically creates new levels to ensure that the challenge is different every time gamers play.

Players can also unlock upgradeable microtechnology which can then be strategically customized alongside their MicroBot with effective weapons, defensive systems, movement parts, and special abilities. Players can build a MicroBot to suit any style of play since there will be literally millions of possible configurations. MicroBot also features a co-operative drop-in/drop-out multiplayer component. Players can join forces and upgrade their MicroBots simultaneously in the game’s co-op editor where they’ll work together to ultimately create the best MicroBot team possible.

Jason Haber of Electronic Arts stated the following after MicroBot‘s announcement:

“We wanted to take gamers to a place they have rarely visited before — the world inside the human body. The fluid dynamics of the world and the customization of the MicroBot come together to create a unique take on the arcade shooter genre. MicroBot is an energetic and addictive game that is perfect for anyone that plays games on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.”
