For huge fans (like myself) of Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy, going more than a few days without news is tough. Square Enix’s recent strategy of releasing details in Japanese gaming magazines first , then screenshots and artwork to the press, followed up with a website update might be just what we need to take the edge off.
Included in the assets are an impressive artwork of Cloud Strife, Cecil Harvey, Golbeza, and Sephiroth. Along with the artwork, we’re treated to game screenshots of characters such as Tifa Lockhart, Lightning, Tidus and Sephiroth engaged in combat. If all this wasn’t enough, we even get a few teasers about the story in the subtitled dialogue in a few images. What’s the rousing speech Cecil Harvey delivers all about?
Square Enix also made a significant update do the Japanese website for Dissidia 012. Alternate outfits, additional screenshots, character backgrounds and EX mode videos—with Tifa being the only character who’s EX video is strangely missing–are available at the site.
Japan should be getting Dissidia 012 in the first quarter of 2011. A US release could occur during the same time frame or shortly there after.
