Fallout: New Vegas – Trophy Guide

November 15, 2010 Written by Jeff Belote

Love the Bomb (Bronze)Cause 10,000 damage with Explosives.

This will come naturally over time if you stick to mostly explosive weapons. You can always speed up the process by playing on very easy difficulty as you will do 200% normal damage to enemies. This will drastically cut down your time on this trophy.

Lead Dealer (Bronze)Cause 10,000 damage with Guns.

This will come naturally over time if you use mostly regular guns. You can always speed up the process by playing on very easy difficulty as you will do 200% normal damage to enemies. This will drastically cut down your time on this trophy.

No Tumbler Fumbler (Bronze)Pick 25 locks.

Try and pick every locked door or safe you come across. Raise your Lockpick skill as high as you can and read skill magazines to help improve your chances of picking a lock. Pick 25 and the trophy is yours.

Stim-ply Amazing (Bronze)Heal 10,000 points of damage with Stimpaks.

This will come over time if you do most of your healing with Stimpaks.

New Vegas Samurai (Bronze)Cause 10,000 damage with Melee Weapons.

This will come naturally over time if you stick to mostly melee weapons. You can always speed up the process by playing on very easy difficulty as you will do 200% normal damage to enemies. This will drastically cut down your time on this trophy.

Jury Rigger (Bronze)Repair 30 items.

Use the Repair skill to repair 30 items.

Hack the Mojave (Bronze)Hack 25 terminals.

Try and hack every terminal you come across. Raise your Science skill as high as you can and read skill magazines to help increase your chances of a successful hack. Hack 25 terminals and the trophy is yours.

Artful Pocketer (Bronze)Pick 50 pockets.

Use your Sneak skill by pressing “L3″ and approach people from behind to pick their pockets. The higher your Sneak skill the better your chances. I would also suggest using a Stealth Boy if you have one as this will give you 100% Sneak. You can speed up this process by turning on Hardcore Mode. In Hardcore Mode ammo carries weight and will allow you to steal one bullet at a time from a person. This will allow you to pick their pocket between 10-20 times before they catch you.

Outstanding Orator (Bronze)Make 50 Speech challenges.

Keep your speech and Science skills as high as you can and complete Speech challenges every chance you get.  Speech and Science challenges both count towards this trophy.

Desert Survivalist (Bronze)Heal 10,000 points of damage with food.

This will come over time if you heal most of your damage with food. Use campfires to create better foods and pick up every food item you find on your travels. Raising your survival skill as high as you can will help out a bunch. You can also speed this up by raising your survival skill to 25 and creating and saving as many Gecko steaks as you can. Once you have saved up enough of them to heal 10,00 points of damage you can find a body of water and drain your health almost all the way down. Once your health is down open up your Pip-Boy 3000 and eat every Gecko Steak you have. This will allow you to heal all 10,00 points of damage at once as it adds the full amount of all food items you eat while in the Pip-Boy 3000. Make sure you keep your Pip-Boy 300 open until the trophy pops up just to be safe.

Old-Tyme Brawler (Bronze)Cause 10,000 damage with Unarmed weapons.

This will come naturally over time if you stick to mostly unarmed attacks. Weapons such as brass knuckles and power fists still count as unarmed weapons. You can always speed up the process by playing on very easy difficulty as you will do 200% normal damage to enemies. This will drastically cut down your time on this trophy.

Know When to Fold Them (Bronze)Win 3 games of Caravan.

See Caravan Master.

One Armed Bandit (Bronze)Play 10 spins of Slots.

You do not have to win for this trophy to pop up. All you have to do is play 10 spins of Slots at any casino.

Little Wheel (Bronze)Play 10 spins of Roulette.

You do not have to win for this trophy to pop up. All you have to do is play 10 spins of Roulette at any casino.

Double Down (Bronze)Play 10 hands of Blackjack.

You do not have to win for this trophy to pop up. All you have to do is play 10 hands of Blackjack at any casino.

Caravan Master (Silver)Win 30 games of Caravan.

You will get a starter deck  for Caravan from Ringo inside the gas station in the town of Goodsprings. He will also give you a note with complete rules for the game. I suggest you read the entire note very carefully. You can find or purchase more cards for your deck throughout the Mojave. I’d recommend playing most of your games against Ringo as he is very easy to beat. Here is a list of vendors and locations to get cards from:

  • Crimson Caravan Company – Blake
  • Gibson’s Scrap Yard – Old Lady Gibson
  • Goodsprings – Chet
  • NCR Corrections Facility – Carter
  • Prospector’s Den – looted from corpse
  • Scorpion Gulch – looted from corpse
  • Deathclaw Promontory – looted from corpse
  • Central Sewers – looted from corpse

The Courier Who Broke the Bank (Silver)Get banned from all the Strip’s casinos.

There are three casinos on the strip. The Tops, The Ultra-Luxe and The Gomorrah. Once you reach a certain amount of winnings you will be banned from gambling at that casino. You will however be able to enter the casinos and do anything else you wish to do. I suggest playing Blackjack as its pretty easy to win. Raising your Luck and wearing Naughty Nightwear will increase your chances of getting a winning hand. Here are the chip amounts required to be banned from each casino:

  • The Tops – 10,000 chips
  • Gomorrah – 9,000 chips
  • Ultra-Luxe – 15,000 chips

Hardcore (Gold)Play the game from start to finish in Hardcore Mode.

After creating your character you will be given the option to turn on Hardcore Mode. You must turn it on at this point and leave it on until you beat the game. Hardcore Mode does not affect difficulty so if you are having trouble you can always lower it to easy or very easy. In Hardcore Mode ammo has weight and you will have to keep track of your sleep, food and water intakes. Sleep at every bed you find and heal as much of your damage as you can with food. Every time you find fresh water be sure to drink until your water level is back to zero. It is also a good idea to stick to one gun if possible to help cut down on weight from extra ammo. Also pick up any food and water you find. Save often and good luck.

Note:  If you disable Hardcore Mode at any point during the game you will not receive this trophy.

Ain’t That a Kick in the Head (Bronze)Completed Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.

Story Quest. This is the very first quest you are given.

They Went That-a-Way (Silver)Completed They Went That-a-Way.

Story Quest. Follow the map markers.
