Sony Playing ‘Catch-Up’ to Fill Move Demand

Since the PlayStation Move launched in September, the PS3’s motion controller has fared pretty well in the market. But according to Sony, it would be doing even better if they could meet the growing demands.

Mark Stanley, General Manager of Latin America for SCEA, has said the demand for the PlayStation Move “has greatly exceeded expectations” forcing the platform holder to “catch up on filling the pipeline with product”. This isn’t just for Latin America either, Stanley continues saying that it’s the same in “US and worldwide” because the demand is just so high.

As of October, the PlayStation Move moved 2.5 million units between the US and Europe. While the outlook isn’t as bright in Japan, the PlayStation Move continues to sell well worldwide.

We’ll be sure to bring you updated sell-through numbers as they become available.
