First Uncharted 3 Gameplay Footage Makes Debut

During Spike TV’s Video Game Award Show, Naughty Dog decided to show off Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception‘s world premier trailer. Although the footage was over two minutes, it contained only minor fragments of the PlayStation 3 exclusive’s gameplay, and arguably did not provide enough gameplay footage to satisfy the masses. However, developer Naughty Dog made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to showcase a live demo of the forthcoming Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Now, the video has been released and it’s nothing short of startling.

Naughty Dog President Evan Wells and Co-President Christophe Balestra took to the stage last night to show a live Uncharted 3 gameplay demo. An action section of the game, which made a fleeting appearance in the VGA trailer, is played through with protagonist Drake. Even though it’s still early days, the gameplay already looks stunning; improved hand-to-hand combat and beautifully crafted environments (although the footage being non-HD doesn’t do the game any justice) are noticeable. Check out the video below.

For more gameplay footage, different, albeit short segments of gameplay can be viewed in the behind-the-scenes making of Uncharted 3‘s world premier trailer. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is now available to pre-order from Amazon with the third installment of the franchise scheduled for a launch on November 1st, 2011. If you can’t get enough of Drake’s upcoming adventure be sure to take advantage of Naughty Dog’s massive Uncharted-related content sale on both the EU and US PlayStation Store.
