Collaborative Chaos in Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

February 1, 2011 Written by Tyler Minarik

Ratchet and Clank are teaming up with some odd allies in their next game, all for the sake of some multiplayer fun. To get you just a little bit more excited for the classic duo’s latest outing, a new gameplay trailer has surfaced today.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is going to be Insomniac’s first foray into cooperative play with Ratchet and Clank. The game will allow for local and online co-op, and is being designed to encourage teamwork as well as competition between players as they progress through the levels. Just in case you don’t have any friends, they have graciously included an AI partner that can help on your quest. Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One will still focus on crazy weapons, this time specifically on using them cooperatively so that players with the same weapons can combine them for additional power, or choose to use different weapons that benefit from stacked abilities. In the video we can see some of these elements coming together, as Insomniac has posted a new gameplay trailer of them running through a level in the game, and it looks like it can get pretty crazy.

Dr. Nefarious makes for an interesting ally to the heroic duo, especially with bumbling Quark tagging along. Which character will you be playing as when Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One releases? Let us know in comments below.
