Infinity Ward Readies Artillery Blitz on Modern Warfare 2 Hackers

Gamers who’ve played Modern Warfare 2 during the past few weeks have been greeted by a grim situation; the game has been hacked inside-out, and games are more about which side has more cheaters than team play or skill. However, this might not be the permanent resting place for the multi-million selling Modern Warfare 2, as Infinity Ward plans to fix the issues before they become even worse.

Infinity Ward’s very own Robert Bowling has confirmed that the long-awaited security patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be reaching the PlayStation 3 before other platforms. As seen on Twitter:

Just received word that we expect the latest Modern Warfare 2 patch for Playstation 3 to be available March 8th worldwide. Addresses hacking

Most shooter fans have moved on to Black Ops or Killzone 3, but it’s still good that Infinity Ward has mustered the resources to save the online mode from extinction. If you feel like returning to Modern Warfare 2 just to see why you spent those countless nights leveling during your Christmas break in 2009, then March 8th would be a great time to do so, and remember, the PS3 gets it first.
