Idol Minds PS3 Exclusive Still Alive, Will Be An Action Title

April 12, 2011 Written by Sebastian Moss

With over half of Idol Minds’ development team supposedly fired last year, it has been a tough time for the PAIN developer, who were thought to be developing a PS3 exclusive game, and a multiplatform title. But funding seems to have returned to the developer as they are once again hiring for the PS3 exclusive, with the job listings hinting at what the game might include.

Over on the developer’s website, Idol Minds have announced that they are hiring for new talent for their “next project” which is later revealed as only for the PS3. Considering “project” is singular, it is sadly likely that their multiplatform title was canceled during the job cuts. In their listing for a “Combat Developer”, not only does the job title suggest that the game will have combat, it is explicitly stated in the description:

The Combat Designer is responsible for the core combat gameplay in our new title. You’ll be developing the abilities, combat moves, damage formulas and creatures in conjunction with programmers, animators and other designers.

The “action title” is presumably published by Sony, and is thought to be a full Blu-Ray title, that isn’t PAIN 2, but shares it’s comic style.
