Naughty Dog Assures That Uncharted 3 Will Graphically Impress

If there’s one company that has anchored the title for king of graphical quality this generation, that title would unanimously go to the top-notch engineers over at Naughty Dog. The original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was one of the first titles that showed the world that the PlayStation 3 hardware was a monster waiting to be unleashed. Soon after, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves made its debut and has remained the best-looking console title since then.

Earlier, Naughty Dog released a new trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception to honor the announcement of a beta arriving this summer. In direct response to a comment showing disappointment in the graphics showcased in the trailer, Arne Meyer from Naughty Dog had this to say:

“Don’t get ahead of yourself based on a multiplayer trailer – not to mention we’ve got over 6 months left of development and polish. If you take a look at past trailers and gameplay video, we make significant advances between our first reveals and game release.”

After all of their years of success with Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and now Uncharted, it’s hard to bet against Naughty Dog. I’ll be the first to say that I won’t be surprised if Uncharted 3 is just as impressive as Uncharted 2 was two years ago. Naughty Dog hasn’t given us any reason to doubt their potential.
