In Asia, the PlayStation Network is currently offline. Sony today, however, confirmed that the PlayStation 3’s online service would resume tomorrow for those affected. The ‘Welcome Back’ package has also been detailed in light of the news of the PSN returning, but fall far short of what North American and European users can enjoy.

Japan and the rest of Asia can look forward to the PlayStation Network going online tomorrow. However, Korea and Hong Kong will have to wait for the PSN to resume with Sony saying details “will be announced as soon as ready”.

All Asian PlayStation Network users will, like the United States and European territories, receive a ‘Welcome Back’ package containing five free games with any two being available to download. The games list, however, is not as pretty:

  • The Last Guy
  • LocoRoco Cocoreccho!
  • echochrome
  • WipEout HD
  • Hustler King

The free games for the PSP, meanwhile, are as follows:

  • Yuhshanokuseninamaikida or2 PSP the Best (What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2)
  • Everybody’s Stress Buster (Hot Shots Shorties)
  • PATAPON2 PSP the Best
  • LittleBigPlanet Portable
  • LocoRoco -Midnight Carnival

Free select movie rentals and 30 days access to PlayStation Plus and a “Special personal space” for Home will also be provided to somewhat soften the blow of the lackluster games on offer.

If you reside in Asia, are you satisfied with the games Sony has announced?
