Are you tired of using your TV speakers, sound system, or that tiny bluetooth headset to listen to your gaming experience? Do you want to get closer to the action and able to hear every little footstep and raindrop? If so then Sony has the announcement to make your day – the Official PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset has just been revealed by Sony.

The official Stereo Headset will be available for purchase in the US this September for the price of $99.99, sadly no other regions have been announced. The headset will feature 7.1 virtual surround sound, perfect for games such as Gran Turismo and Killzone 3. Volume controls and the mute button are said to be very accessible and you will be informed of battery life and sound controls with on-screen status updates. The microphone is also fully retractable in case you just want to listen to music or play offline. The headset will connect to the PS3 with a USB adapter.

After taking a look at the screenshots the only thing that might be holding some of us back is the price, but this is a great looking headset. Will it be resting on your head this September when it releases?
