New Silent Hill: Downpour Screens Are Eerily Quiet

Silent Hill: Downpour is next installment of the Silent Hill series to arrive on consoles. Konami is also working on a title for the PlayStation Vita, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, but hardly any information has been released on that title, besides that fact that it will have multiplayer. Although Vatra Games is developing Silent Hill: Downpour, the game is sure to fit in well with the series.

Konami have released several screens for Silent Hill: Downpour that show off the environments of the game. As always, the environments are dark and gritty. Litter, broken cars, empty boxes, and sunken pits are everywhere. The screens also show the protagonist, Murphy Pendleton, locked in a room with a strange child sitting outside. Another screen shows an old church with lit candles on the altar. So, it looks like players will once again have to fight a cult of deranged souls; however, Silent Hill: Downpour will take place in a section of the city that has never been explored in previous titles, so expect to be in unfamiliar territory.

Downpour is set to release in late 2011.
