Sony Takes SingStar Back to the ’80s

SingStar is Sony’s karaoke mega-franchise available on both the PS2 and PS3. There are over 30 different themed SingStar releases spanning across the globe. You can now add another one into the mix.

Sony has announced SingStar: Back to the ’80s for the PS3, which will release in time for Christmas. It’s called Back to the ’80s since there is already a SingStar: ’80s released on the PlayStation 2. The new game will feature 30 unannounced tracks all from a time when MTV actually played videos, Transformers were cool (hey, wait a minute…), and people wore perms, Jheri curls, flat-tops, mullets and, worst of all, acid-wash jeans and tie dye.

Growing up in the 80s, we can’t help but be at least a little bit excited about this news, but until we know the track list (it better include some Guns N’ Roses and Run D.M.C.) we’ll wait patiently before doing the Moonwalk.
