Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Shows 3D Support in Subtle Manner

3D support has gradually become more commonplace over the past year, with several well-known developers announcing their support for the technology. Ubisoft voiced their interest in stereoscopic 3D support for PS3 titles as far back as 2010, and now that interest appears to have become reality.

Close examination of GameStop’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations pre-order advertisement reveals something special for 3DTV owners who plan to pick-up the game this holiday season. See below:

The “3D Compatible” sticker on the bottom right of the PS3’s box art doesn’t lie. Alongside Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Batman: Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations appears to have 3D support on launch day. You might also notice that the PS3 version of the game takes center stage on the advertisement, which comes as a bit of a surprise after a few years of seeing Sony’s primary competitor, Microsoft, paying for front row seats in North American ads. However, the PS3 has a strong history with Assassin’s Creed, and this year won’t be any different. You’ll be seeing plenty of Revelations commercials ending in “PS3 for only $249.99” this holiday season, and there’s no doubt about it.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations releases on store shelves November 15th. Stay tuned for confirmation on the game’s 3D compatibility.
