FIFA Tops UK Sales Charts Two Weeks in a Row

The latest installment in the mega popular EA soccer/football franchise FIFA 12 dominated UK’s sales charts two weeks in a row. Electronic Arts has reported that an estimated 3.2 million units were sold globally in its first week. So clearly, its 68 percent decline in sales during the second week may have been substantial, but not enough to knock it off the top slot.

Rage follows close behind in second place with From Software’s punishingly difficult Dark Souls nipping at its heels. Check out the full list below:

  1. FIFA 12
  2. Rage
  3. Dark Souls
  4. Gears of War 3
  5. F1 2011
  6. Zumba Fitness
  7. Dead Island
  8. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  9. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean
  10. Resistance 3

There’s no denying the power of the FIFA brand, especially among European gamers. The fact that it was able to outsell both Rage and Dark Souls, two high-profile multi-platform releases, is quite an accomplishment. As a side note, it’s nice to see Resistance 3 get some recognition, even if it’s bringing up the rear in tenth place.
