Skyrim Goes Gold, Prepares for Launch

November 4, 2011 Written by Sebastian Moss

With The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releasing next week, the game has finally gone gold. Due to their huge size, scale and complexity Bethesda’s RPGs are generally filled with quite a few bugs around launch, but the developer has promised that this time will be different.

After a development period of over three years, the game is officially completed, and the build it is now will be the build you’ll be playing when it comes out. With 3 platforms, numerous countries and multiple languages, the developer has completed over 20 versions of Skyrim. To mark the epic achievement, the team celebrated with a rather appropriate drink: sweet golden mead brewed by Kurt Kuhlmann, Ryan Jenkins, and Shane Liesegang.
