Rayman 3 Gets Highly Defined for PSN

The popular trend of taking old games and giving them a fresh coat of paint in HD for a digital re-release continues as Rayman: Hoodlum Havoc makes its way to the PSN.

With the recent release of the surprisingly good Rayman: Origins, Ubisoft have announced that they’ll follow up on the new game with an HD port of the third official Rayman game, Rayman: Hoodlum Havoc. Having originally come out in 2003 for PS2, Xbox, PC, and numerous other platforms, the classic title sees our iconic hero once again having to save his world from dark evil forces. For those of you who have been playing Origins, it should be noted that Rayman 3 is still a platformer game, but operates in a 3D world from a third person perspective, instead of the classic 2D style.

As you can see above, Ubisoft has already released some pictures of Rayman: Hoodlum Havoc HD, and it looks pretty nice with respect to the original’s visuals. Besides the pictures and stating that the update will run at 60 fps, Ubisoft offered little other details about the upcoming game. For now we can simply expect to see Hoodlum Havoc on the PSN and XBLA sometime this spring, with an unannounced price listing. Considering this news it would be nice to see them bring us Rayman’s other releases as well, but only time will tell if that’s in the cards. For now, let us know if you’ve picked up Origins, or plan on getting Hoodlum Havoc when it gets here next year.
