3G PlayStation Vita Delayed in Canada

Are you from The Great White North and looking to pick up a 3G PlayStation Vita at launch? Unfortunately, you may want to stick to the Wifi version, or else you’ll be stuck waiting.

Canadian EB Games customers have begun receiving emails notifying them of the delay. Sources at EB Games told Kotaku that the system is showing a release in April, rather than the Vita’s normal February 22nd launch date.

No reason for the delay was given, but since the Wifi version isn’t delayed as well, it could be that Sony is struggling to reach an agreement with 3G network providers.

Here in the United States, Sony has partnered with AT&T while in Japan, NTT DoCoMo will be providing 3G services to the device. In most of Europe, the 3G PlayStation Vita is more open – you can get it from Vodafone, but it’s unlocked and can be used with other 3G networks. If you do choose to go with Vodafone, you can get a copy of WipEout 2048 for free.
