Another .hack Game to be Revealed Next Month

.hack isn’t known too well in the West, but it has a sizable and dedicated group of fans. A new movie adaptation of the series named .hack//Sekai no Mukou ni is releasing in less than a month, and now the nearly one decade old franchise is looking to spread its wings with another video game release.

The upcoming .hack game was confirmed by Famitsu during an interview with CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, and while he didn’t reveal what platforms it would be on, it’s safe to assume that it’ll arrive on the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita given their market share in Japan. He also mentioned that the game would stray from the anime-style visuals found in previous titles in an effort to appeal to fans of “photorealistic” visuals.

More information will coincide with the release of the upcoming .hack movie, which is scheduled to release on January 21st. It’s uncertain if the game will release in the West, so be sure to voice your opinion if you want to be able to play it with English voice-overs.
