New Cars and a New Test Course Are Part Of Gran Turismo 5’s DLC This Tuesday

Gran Turismo 5 is getting new downloadable content on Tuesday, January 17th that adds six new cars and a new test course to the PlayStation 3 racing game.

The first batch of DLC releasing for GT5 on Tuesday is Car Pack 3, which will be available for download for $5.99. The six cars that Car Pack 3 will add to the game are: the new Lamborghini Aventador, the Jaguar XJR-9 LM racecar, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, the 66′ Volkswagen 1200, Mini Cooper S Countryman, and the new Nissan Leaf.

The second batch of DLC is the Speed Test Course Pack for $3.99, featuring the Speed Test Course Route X. The course is described as “a massive oval with giant banking corners,” on which players will be able to track racing stats like mile and quarter-mile time, acceleration and g-force (see one of the images in the Media Gallery below). No other courses for the pack were specifically mentioned.

Next week will also see the release of Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition — which does not include any of the above content — and a minor update that’s coming to GT5 via a free downloadable patch.

Sony also announced that Bryan Heitkotter, winner of GT Academy USA, will take turns competing in the 24H Dubai endurance race with the winners of GT Academy Europe.
