Grasshopper Considering Shadows of the Damned Sequel

Despite lackluster sales, developer Grasshopper Manufacture is looking to make a followup to last year’s cult classic Shadows of the Damned.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer at the London launch event for the studio’s latest title Sine Mora, Akira Yamaoka, the composer behind the first game discussed the studio’s desire to do a sequel, saying, “I’m thinking of a sequel, actually.” He went on to add, “I can’t tell you here, but clearly I’d like to.”

With regards to the likelihood in EA Partners resuming their role as publisher, Yamaoka said “Probably,” following it up with “Well, yes.” This is a bit surprising, considering the poor showing the game had at retailers, along with the lack of advertisement backing the publisher offered preceding the game’s release.

While the words of Yamaoka can’t be taken as confirmation that we’ll see a Shadows of the Damned 2, it’s definitely a greater possibility than we all initially thought. Would you like to see a sequel the to story of Garcia Hotspur, or would you rather Grasshopper focus their efforts on something completely new? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
