Robert ‘fourzerotwo’ Bowling Leaves Position at Activision and Infinity Ward

Robert Bowling, better known as fourzerotwo, grew a huge Twitter following as the official spokesperson for Call of Duty developers Infinity Ward, with the creative strategist helping grow and support the thriving CoD community as it quickly became one of the largest gaming groups on the internet. After the founders of Infinity Ward and multiple developers at the studio quit and formed Respawn Entertainment, Bowling stood by Activision and helped promote MW3. Now, however, he has resigned.

No reason was given for his departure, with Bowling saying on Twitter:

Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision.

Whether he will join Respawn, quit the industry or go indie is not yet known, but with Bowling having 367,535 Twitter followers, publishers would probably love to have the creative strategist on their side.

Activision said:

We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service. He’s been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team. We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities.

Stay tuned to PSLS for more updates on Bowling’s future as it develops.
