Yoshinori Ono, the famed producer of the Street Fighter franchise has announced that he will be stepping down from his role at Capcom in order to take some time off to recover from his recent illness.
Last week, Ono was hospitalized after becoming ill during a Street Fighter X Tekken event. He has since taken time to recover and thanked fans for their ongoing support and kind wishes. Earlier today, he tweeted the following message to the gaming community:
I’ll refrain from work for current job for a while. Another person in charge of SF series for a while.Of course I’ll constant support to it.
I’ll be out of the limelight as fighting game series for a while. I’ll think about the new future of fighting game after this. ;D
