Grasshopper Announces New Title, Killer is Dead for 2013

The guys at Grasshopper Manufacture keep plugging away, announcing new games left and right. The team that brought us last year’s cult-classic Shadows of the Damned and the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw is already working on their next twisted experience for 2013, dubbed Killer is Dead.

The title will initially have you wondering if this could possibly be a sequel to the GameCube favorite Killer 7, but according to a report from Siliconera, the two are not related canonically. That said, the game will blend the gameplay of Killer 7 and No More Heroes, while throwing a few “new elements” into the mix. Like No More Heroes, the gameplay will be sword-focused.

More details will be available once the latest issue of Famitsu is released, but what we can scrounge up from early leaks thus far is that the game places a significant emphasis on espionage and feels like a “dark side of James Bond.” The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.

Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for future updates on Killer is Dead. In the meantime, take a look at the first two images of the game below (via Andriasang).
