“Project RPG” From Witcher 2 Senior Producer Announced, To Arrive In 2013

A Senior Producer for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is working on a new project that’s going to be released on home consoles and PC.

Digital Spy reports that Tomasz Gop, a former Senior Producer for The Witcher 2, will be the head of a new Action RPG referred to as “Project RPG” (working title). The game will be published by City Interactive and developed by Germany-based studio Deck13 Interactive.

The game has a story is set 1,000 years after the death of a god, whose corpse is a mountain that splits the world into two different sides, each with their own philosophy. The player’s character will have to choose to be aligned with one of the sides.

The game’s combat system was inspired by games such as Dark Souls, Batman: Arkham City, and Kingdoms of Amalur — all games that have combat systems with depth that are still easy for players to grasp.

Enemies will be able to be told apart by behavior and fighting style, not appearance. The game has also been confirmed to include a “New Game+” option as well.

“Project RPG” is currently scheduled to be released for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2013.
