New Max Payne 3 Trailer Details Upgrades To Bullet Time

Rockstar has released a new trailer for Max Payne 3 which details the upgrades to the series’ Bullet Time system.

The trailer claims that the upgrades to Max Payne 3 will allow players to choreograph their own shootouts. Strategic use of Bullet Time is key to survival in the game, as Max is often outnumbered and heavily outgunned. Bullet Time replenishes based on risks players take, level of skill, and the precision of shots made. Max’s ability to “shoot dodge” expands his range of movement and allows him to strategically avoid gunfire or gain the advantage on an enemy.

A blend of motion captured animation, Rockstar’s proprietary physics engine, and NaturalMotion’s Euphoria character behaviors combine to create a fluid experience which results in near-complete player control and seamless movement. Enemies also react dynamically, grabbing the specific location of an injury or seek cover and call for backup while their allies provide suppressing fire.

Final Kill cameras highlight the last kill in any shootout. Each camera is unique and based on distance, point of impact, weapon type, and more. For added intensity, players can slow down Final Kill cameras at will.

Each level will have intense moments where Bullet Time is automatically triggered as well, allowing the player to take out groups of enemies by maintaining full control of aiming and shooting at all times.

The trailer closes with a brief bit of gameplay footage, the game’s logo, release date and a message to pre-order now.
