Darksiders II Delayed to August “to Ensure we Meet the High Quality Threshold”

THQ’s upcoming action game Darksiders II has been delayed from its original June release to later this summer.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise for fans following the franchise, as THQ’s Danny Bilson hinted at a delay not too long ago when he said that Darksiders II wasn’t “going to ship it before it’s done.” The game was originally supposed to release on June 26th for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, and be ready for the Wii U’s launch later this year.

Developer Vigil was careful to point out that the delay has nothing to do with getting the game ready for its Wii U launch, but rather polishing the entire project to a level of quality that they are proud of.

The date was shifted to ensure we meet the high quality threshold that we are committed to achieving. It has nothing to do with any other platform releases.

Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for a definitive release date in the coming days.
