Rockstar Announces Max Payne 3 DLC Plans, Pre-Order It All For $30

Rockstar has announced their downloadable content plans for their upcoming shooter, Max Payne 3.

The DLC plans for Max Payne 3 involve seven different pieces of content that will be released beginning in June and ending in the fall. Rockstar is offering the DLC individually as well as via the Rockstar Pass, a form of “season pass,” which will enable gamers to download all of the DLC to be released for the game in 2012 as soon as it’s available. The pass is available for pre-order today at a price of $29.99 at Best Buy, GameStop, via the PlayStation Store on PSN, or via Xbox Live (for 2400 Microsoft Points). The PC version of the pass will also be available somehow for $29.99. Rockstar claims that the Rockstar Pass will save gamers 35% compared to purchasing the content individually.

The first downloadable content pack is called the Local Justice Map Pack and includes: the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes. The pack will also feature two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more. The Local Justice Map Pack will be available in June 2012.

The full DLC schedule follows:

June 2012

  • Local Justice Map Pack

Summer 2012

  • Disorganized Crime Map Pack
  • Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack
  • Hostage Negotiation Map Pack
  • New York Minute Co-Op Pack

Fall 2012

  • Trickle Down Economics Map Pack

Max Payne 3 will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 15th, with a PC version release to follow on May 29th.
