Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles Announced For Zen Pinball 2, Avengers Table Details

May 4, 2012 Written by Nick Michetti

Marvel Studios has announced that the Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles table pack is coming to upcoming PSN/XBLA pinball title Zen Pinball 2 and revealed details about one of tables, Marvel’s The Avengers.

On the PS Blog, Manager of Licensed Games for Marvel Studios Chris Baker announced Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles, a new upcoming tables pack coming to Zen Pinball 2 (which will be available on PSN for PS3 and Vita). Avengers Chronicles has a total four tables, including a Marvel’s The Avengers table.

Real movie assets were used in the creation of the Marvel’s The Avengers table. Baker lists the Quinjet, 3D character models, Iron Man, Hulk, and the SHIELD computer monitors as all taken directly from the Avengers film’s assets.

With the Marvel’s The Avengers table, even the game balls themselves are unique. Players will select an Avenger to be represented by a game ball, which will have unique buffs based on the Avenger selected. For example, a skill shot buff is given to players who select Hawkeye. No traditional silver game balls exist in the Marvel’s The Avengers table. (Speaking of unique events for pinball for this table, look for Thor vs. Hulk, which is depicted in one of the screenshots below.)

Also, some of the people who worked on the movie even helped contribute to the creation of the Marvel’s The Avengers table, even down to the table script and the scenario selection for the table.

Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles has no firm release date yet, other than it will be coming on the unspecified launch date of Zen Pinball 2 (which is said to be coming soon). Also, a reminder for gamers who may want to own Vita and PS3 versions of Zen Pinball 2: If Avengers Chronicles is DLC, it only has to be purchased once to be playable on both platforms.
