Sony Announces Plans to Cut the Vita’s Price in France for a Limited Time

If you’ve been planning on picking up a Vita but have been holding out for the slim possibility of a price drop, we’ve got good news for you – that is, if you live in France – as Sony has just announced plans to cut the Vita’s price temporarily.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the offer will make its way outside of France and will only run for a limited time, as Sony is offering a €50 ($62.19) rebate all on PlayStation Vitas purchased in the country between June 1st and July 15th. According to a spokesperson from SCE UK, “This is a limited retail price promotion that is only available for a short space of time in France.”

The other disheartening reality that accompanies this announcement is that since Sony has announced this limited time rebate, there is virtually no hope of them making any type of permanent price cut announcement at E3. Sure, it still is possible, but considering the fact the system has only been out a few months and $250 is still quite reasonable when considering the power of the device, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
