PSN Restored, Sony Attributes Yesterday’s Network Troubles to “Unplanned Maintenance”

Yesterday brought a few troubles for PlayStation users trying to access Sony’s online gaming network. Fortunately the issues have since been remedied and everything should be back to normal.

Sony posted an update on the official EU PlayStation Forum, notifying users of the network’s restoration, saying, “The unplanned maintenance is now complete so if anyone is still having issues then please let me know.” An update on the issue was also provided via Twitter, assuring gamers that the “PlayStation Store is now fully functional.”

Did the network issues impede on your gaming time yesterday? Are these bouts of downtime due to alleged “maintenance” getting out of hand? Sony has done a lot to appeal to gamers with fantastic deals like free online gaming and the fantastic subscription service that is PlayStation Plus, but does that excuse these little mishaps? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
