Free Radical’s Star Wars: Battlefront III will sadly never be released, but that hasn’t stopped an entire hour of new footage from the game popping up online.
Why Star Wars: Battlefront III was never released is rather distressing, with LucasArts cancelling the product despite it being nearly finished, due to short-term financial targets. The footage below by Past to Present Online is pre-alpha from around March or April 2008, so is rather buggy and ugly:
Despite numerous rumors and fan petitions, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting BFIII from another developer, with LucasArts focusing their Star Wars-milking powers on Star Wars Kinect and the upcoming 1313.
