FCC Filing Outs Redesigned, Extra-Slim PS3

With gamescom fast approaching, rumors have been circulating the web regarding a new, slimmer version of the already slimmed down PS3. Now, thanks to a filing report from the Federal Communications Division, there’s some actual weight behind this rumor.

The FCC documents, first spotted by Pocket News, detail Sony’s plans for a PS3 4000 model. For those that don’t know, we the current model for sale right now is the 3000 series, and judging by the content in these files, this new model appears to be a bit smaller.

At E3 last month, Eurogamer asked Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida whether or not a redesigned console was in the works, to which he replied: “Never say never.”
