Namco Bandai has just announced that the thirteenth proper installment in their popular Tales franchise will be headed to both Europe and the US sometime next year.
Tales of Xillia was originally last September in Japan as part of the series 15th anniversary celebration. The game went on to rack up the most pre-orders in the series’ history and aside from Tales of Destiny 2 sold more than any other title in the franchise.
There’s no doubt that because of the game’s overwhelming success, Namco has decided to bring the game to a much wider audience and I’m sure all of the JRPG fanatics out west will be simply ecstatic at the news. The Tales series is one of the most treasured and important franchises to both the publisher and fans, so it will certainly benefit from reaching a larger group of PlayStation 3 owners.
