New Budget-Priced Version of MGS4 to Support Full Install Option

In celebration of 25 years of Metal Gear, Konami announced yesterday that the PlayStation 3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 will finally be getting trophy support. In addition to this news, the publisher revealed today that those who pick up the new, budget version of MGS4 will be able to fully install the game to their hard drive.

Remember those pesky installs at the beginning of each chapter? It looks like this new installation option will do away with those, so players can jump right into the action without being interrupted.

No word yet on whether or not this will be made available for those with older copies of Metal Gear Solid 4, but one would think Konami would try to include the added option within the upcoming patch that adds trophy support.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most beloved exclusives on the PlayStation 3, so it’s great to see Konami go back and enhance the experience for fans of the series. Sure we’ve had to wait a few years, but it’s better late than never.
