Grammy Award-winning musician Beck will be bringing three brand new tracks to the hotly anticipated PS3 and Vita game .
Beck, creator of songs like Mellow Gold, Odelay and Modern Guilt, will join the growing list of musicians that are supporting the indie title, like Deadmau5, Jim Guthrie and I Am Robot and Proud. Beck gave developer Queasy Games three “very different songs that form an album” – Cities, Touch the People, and Spiral Staircase. The album will show just how well you can build fun levels around song structures, using the same level creation tools that are available to players.
Queasy enlisted Pyramid Attack, an animation, art and design studio, to help create the game levels to go with the tracks. Below, you can hear the first track from the Beck album, Cities, and see the game being played on PS3:
Sound Shapes is out on August 7th in the US and the next day in Europe on both PS3 and Vita for $14.99 ($11.99 on PS+). Additionally, the game is a cross-play title, so when you buy the game on one platform it’ll be available for free on the other platform.
